About the event
The World Record Chess Marathon is an open chess festival for players of all nationalities and ages. The event runs over four days and includes eight ranked tournaments alongside elite simultaneous exhibitions.
The blitz and rapid tournaments are FIDE-rated. A Grand Prix spanning all eight events offers an additional $18,500 in overall prizes. A Wild Card to the WR Women's Chess Tour Americas stage (Punta Cana, June 30 – July 3) is awarded to the top South American female player across both Rapid tournaments.
