About the event
The World Record Chess Marathon
An open chess festival for players of all ages and nationalities. Over four days, five FIDE-rated Rapid and Blitz tournaments and three Bughouse events run alongside elite simultaneous exhibitions, creating 67 hours of non-stop chess.
A Grand Prix across all eight tournaments awards $18,500 as part of the $100,000 prize fund. The top South American female player in the Rapid events also earns a Wild Card to the WR Women’s Chess Tour Americas in Punta Cana.
Fausti vs. Jospem
GM Faustino Oro (Argentina) meets GM José Martínez Alcántara (Mexico) in a six-game match (2 Rapid, 4 Blitz) for a $10,000 prize. At 12, Oro is the second-youngest Grandmaster in history. Martínez (“Jospem”) returns to his hometown of Lima for the match.

The online form is for foreign players only (non-Peruvian ID); Peruvian players and residents enter via the selective tournaments. Validate your registration by sending your Lima transport ticket no later than June 18, 2026; all registered players must confirm participation by June 21, 2026.
